Arsenal FC continued their flawless run in the Champions League by securing a seventh consecutive victory and becoming the first team to qualify for the round of 16. The London side defeated Inter Milan 3–1 at the San Siro, extending a perfect streak that underlines their strong presence in this season’s competition. Inter, backed by their home supporters, attempted to halt Arsenal’s momentum and showed fighting spirit for long stretches of the match.

However, the Nerazzurri were ultimately unable to contain the visitors’ intensity and tactical discipline, as Arsenal once again demonstrated why they sit among Europe’s elite. Despite the absence of key players Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice, Mikel Arteta’s team began the match with aggressive pressing and clear attacking intent. That approach paid off early when Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring in the 10th minute, giving Arsenal a deserved lead.

Inter responded positively and managed to level the match shortly afterward. Petar Šučić capitalized on a defensive lapse to score the equalizer in the 18th minute, briefly restoring balance and confidence to the Italian side. Arsenal regained control before halftime through Gabriel Jesus once again. The Brazilian striker followed up a header that struck the crossbar and crossed the line in the 31st minute, completing his brace and putting the visitors back in front. After the break, Inter pushed forward in search of an equalizer, increasing possession and attacking pressure.

Arsenal, however, remained composed, defending effectively and waiting for the right moment to exploit spaces on the counterattack. That decisive moment arrived late in the match when Viktor Gyökeres sealed the victory in the 84th minute. His goal on the counterattack confirmed Arsenal’s superiority and effectively ended Inter’s hopes of a comeback.

With this result, Arsenal maintain their perfect record in the league phase and send a clear message to the rest of Europe. Already through to the knockout stage, the English side are emerging as one of the most convincing contenders in this year’s Champions League.
