Manchester City delivered one of the most chaotic and dramatic matches of the Premier League season, defeating Fulham 5–4 in a nine-goal thriller that included a historic milestone for Erling Haaland. The 25-year-old Norwegian struck in the 17th minute to open the scoring and, with that goal, became the fastest player ever to reach 100 Premier League goals.
Haaland accomplished the feat in just 111 matches — beating Alan Shearer’s previous record by 13 games. After failing to score in his last two appearances against Newcastle United and Leeds United, Haaland rediscovered his accuracy at Craven Cottage and ignited Manchester City’s offensive surge. Tijani Reijnders made it 2–0 in the 37th minute before Phil Foden added a quick brace in the 44th and 48th minutes.
A Sander Berge own goal in the 54th appeared to seal an easy 5–1 victory for City. But Fulham refused to surrender. Alex Iwobi cut the deficit in the 57th minute, and Samuel Chukwueze stunned City with two goals in the 72nd and 78th minutes, suddenly turning the match into a tense finish at 5–4. Manchester City were forced to defend desperately in the closing minutes to secure the win.
With the victory, Pep Guardiola’s side moves to within two points of league leaders Arsenal, who host Brentford on Wednesday. Manchester City remains firmly in the title race, while Haaland adds yet another landmark achievement to his already remarkable Premier League legacy.
