American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was recently convicted on sexual offense charges, is reportedly seeking a pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump. According to Combs’ attorney, preliminary discussions have already taken place. However, Trump appears to harbor resentment toward the rapper.
“They’ve made contact and have had conversations about a possible pardon,” said Combs’ lawyer, Nicole Westmoreland, in an interview with CNN on Tuesday (local time).
Trump, on the other hand, indicated that he is unlikely to grant clemency to the 55-year-old artist. “I got along with him—he seemed like a nice guy,” Trump told Newsmax in an interview on Friday. “But when I ran for office, he was very hostile toward me,” he added. When asked if that meant he was not inclined to pardon Combs, Trump replied, “I would say that’s right.”

Combs Escapes Major Charges In the high-profile trial, the jury last month found Combs guilty of two out of five charges, including promoting prostitution. However, he was acquitted on the most serious charge of running a criminal organization. Prosecutors had accused the rapper of coercing women into attending drug- and sex-fueled parties using threats and violence.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 3. According to court documents, the prosecution is recommending a prison sentence of between two years and three months to three years and three months. Combs has been held in a well-known Brooklyn detention center since September 2024. Time already served will be factored into the final sentencing decision.
