Ariana Grande has revealed that she plans to shift her focus toward musical performance and acting, moving away from the pop routine that has defined much of her career. Speaking with actress Amy Poehler on the podcast Good Hang, the 32-year-old said she grew up loving musicals and comedy, and that following that creative instinct feels right for her at this stage.
After releasing her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, in 2024, Grande explained that she now wants to pursue what feels “best for her soul and her art.” Beginning in June 2026, Grande will embark on a short tour across several U.S. cities before heading to London for a series of August concerts. No additional European dates have been announced. She hinted, however, that this will likely be her last tour for a long while.
“I don’t want to say anything definitive, but I know for sure that something like this won’t happen again for a very, very, very, very long time,” she said. Grande described the upcoming shows as one final “big, big hurrah for now,” signaling a major transition after ten to fifteen years of intense musical activity. Grande’s artistic future is increasingly tied to acting. Her portrayal of Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked, the film adaptation of the hit musical, earned her both Golden Globe and Oscar nominations this year for Best Supporting Actress.
Wicked: Part Two has just premiered in theaters, solidifying her growing presence in Hollywood. She will also appear in the thirteenth season of the acclaimed horror series American Horror Story, further establishing her shift toward a more performance-centric career beyond the pop spotlight.
