Tension Over Paris Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma Excitement surrounds Paris goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The star keeper is flirting with a departure, and the club believes a dirty poker game is underway. The Italian star goalkeeper’s contract with the French champions expires in 2026. So far, Donnarumma has shown no signs of wanting to extend the deal beyond that.

Quite the opposite: it is said that the Italian is considering sitting out the final year of his PSG contract so he can move on a free transfer. In the meantime, Paris and Donnarumma are playing poker over a potential summer transfer. And now, the French club’s management is reportedly accusing the star keeper of foul play—at least according to renowned transfer expert Duncan Castles.

According to the report, PSG’s management is convinced that Donnarumma is trying to reduce any transfer fee as much as possible, with the aim of then securing a higher salary or a larger signing bonus for himself. The French club’s management is determined not to let Donnarumma run out his contract and then leave for free.

This is where Manchester United comes into play, it is said. The “Red Devils” are reportedly looking for a successor to goalkeeper André Onana. Although Onana is under contract with United until 2028, coach Ruben Amorim is said to be a strong supporter of signing Donnarumma.

The Premier League club is also ready to push for the move if more money flows into the coffers through player sales. PSG, for its part, has already looked for alternatives and is on the verge of bringing French goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille to Paris in a deal worth 40 million euros. For that reason, Donnarumma is allowed to leave—but not for free.
