Born on February 19, 1954, Buchholz took part in the legendary 1984 world tour, during which Scorpions performed at iconic venues such as New York’s Madison Square Garden and major arenas in Los Angeles.
Global hits like “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and “Still Loving You” cemented the band’s status as an international powerhouse. His collaboration with Scorpions ended in 1992 following a complex dispute over the band’s management. The disagreement led to lengthy legal proceedings, including cases that reached Germany’s Federal Court of Justice, which ultimately ruled that his dismissal from the band was lawful. Schenker is the younger brother of Scorpions founder Rudolf Schenker. The news of his death was confirmed through a statement posted on his Facebook profile, signed by his family, stating that the musician passed away peacefully and surrounded by love. “We are heartbroken,” the family wrote, noting that they stood by his side throughout his fight with cancer.
