Djokovic has ruled out an imminent end to his career after his clear semifinal exit at Wimbledon. "Let's hope it wasn't my last match on Center Court. I don't plan on ending my career at Wimbledon today. I plan on coming back at least one more time," said the 38-year-old after the clear three-set defeat to Jannik Sinner. The superior South Tyrolean effortlessly prevailed 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 over the aging Serbian maestro.
Djokovic was eliminated without a chance against the world number one on Friday. The seven-time tournament winner struggled with physical problems and received treatment on his thigh before the third set. Djokovic Complains of Physical Issues No matter how much he worries about his body, "reality hits me now, in the last year and a half, like never before," said a dejected Djokovic.
That's hard to accept, because "when I'm fresh, when I'm fit, I can still play really good tennis." In the later rounds of a Grand Slam, however, it will be difficult against high-flying players Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic admitted. He wants to make the most of what he has "still in the tank," according to Djokovic, the record Grand Slam winner. "It's just this physical aspect that bothers me. You're there. You want to play. You're determined. But then your body doesn't want to listen. That's it. That's all you can say about it."
