U.S. President Donald Trump firmly rejected any possibility of negotiations with Iran’s leadership as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate. His statements signal an increasingly hard stance from Washington amid the growing regional confrontation. Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed that key elements of Iran’s military structure had been severely weakened following recent attacks.
According to the president, Iran’s air defenses, air force, naval capabilities, and parts of its leadership structure have effectively been “shut down.” Trump suggested that Iran may now be seeking dialogue with the United States. However, he made it clear that any attempt at negotiations comes too late in light of the current situation. The president also highlighted U.S. military strength, stating that the United States possesses virtually unlimited capabilities in medium- and long-range weapon systems.
He described these capabilities as extremely powerful and capable of delivering devastating force if necessary. The remarks come amid the massive wave of airstrikes launched by the United States and Israel against strategic targets inside Iran. The military campaign began on Saturday and marked a major escalation in the conflict. Several senior Iranian figures were reportedly killed during the strikes, including high-ranking military commanders and influential members of Iran’s leadership structure.
Their deaths have created significant uncertainty within Tehran’s power hierarchy. Iran responded quickly with retaliatory attacks targeting Israel as well as locations across several Gulf states. Some facilities associated with U.S. interests in the region were also reportedly targeted. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced that retaliatory operations would continue.
Military officials speaking on state television declared that further strikes would be carried out as long as the confrontation persists.
