The Hollywood Reporter announced on Tuesday that global superstar Jennifer Lopez will be honored with this year’s Equity in Entertainment Award during the magazine’s prestigious Women in Entertainment breakfast gala, to be held in Los Angeles on December 3.
The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions toward gender parity and inclusion across film, television, and music. Lopez, whose multifaceted career spans acting, singing, and entrepreneurship, has long been a vocal advocate for diversity and representation in Hollywood.
The accolade will be presented by Emmy Award–winning producer and actress Kerry Washington, who herself received the same distinction in 2023. Their appearance at this year’s ceremony highlights a powerful continuity of women supporting women within the entertainment industry. Lopez joins Gwyneth Paltrow—previously announced as the recipient of the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award—as one of the evening’s top honorees.
The Women in Entertainment gala, hosted annually by The Hollywood Reporter, brings together leading figures from film, television, and media to celebrate progress and advocate for greater equality both on and off the screen.
With Lopez’s recognition, this year’s event promises to be one of the most inspiring celebrations of talent, leadership, and purpose in the entertainment world.
