Study links plant-based diets to better sleep and lower daily stress
A new health study suggests that people who follow plant-based diets tend to sleep better and feel less stressed during the day than those who stick to traditional eating habits. Researchers point to higher levels of fiber, vitamins and antioxidants as possible explanations for the improvements in mood and nighttime rest.
Participants who added more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes to their meals reported feeling more energized and less dependent on caffeine. Many also said they experienced fewer late-night cravings, which helped them maintain more regular sleep patterns and wake up feeling more refreshed.
Health specialists say the findings reinforce a growing shift toward nutritional habits that support both physical and mental well-being. They recommend gradual changes, such as replacing heavily processed foods with fresh plant-based options, as a realistic way to improve long-term health without adopting extreme diets.
